- Oil Filter Wrench
- Hydraulic Jack
- Jack Stands
- Drain Pan

- Four quarts of oil, 5W-30
- Paper towels
- Oil Filter
[edit] Instructions
- Warm up the engine.
- Jack up the front of the car and place the car on jack stands.
- Place a container underneath the oil pan to catch the oil and remove the 14MM drain bolt from the oil pan. Be careful, the oil will still be hot.
- Remove the oil filter from the back of the engine block. A filter wrench can be used if you can’t get it by hand.
- Reinstall oil pan drain plug with new washer. Torque 22-29 foot pounds.
- Clean mating surface of oil filter. Make sure the old gasket is still on the old filter and not stuck to the mating surface on the block.
- Apply a coat of oil to the gasket of the new filter. Install the new filter by tightening until resistance is felt, then turning an addition 2/3 of a turn.
- Refill engine oil through the oil cap on the valve cover. It should take approximately 3 and 5/8 quarts.
- Start the car. The oil light should go out within a few seconds. If it does not turn the car off and investigate.
- Check for any oil leaks.
- Turn the car off. Wait a minute or two, then check the oil level on the dipstick.
