- Knife
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Flat Screwdriver

- New Automatic Shifter
- Electrical Tape
- Piece of Rag or Towel
[edit] Instructions
- Use the flat screwdriver and rag to remove the cover plate around the shifter
- Remove the one screw that holds the ash tray to the dash with the Phillips screwdriver and unplug the light.
- Remove the four screws that hold the center consul using a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the seats forward to get the screws on the back sides. Unscrew the two on the dashboard where the consul is.
- Hold the shifter panel in place but remove the four screws with the Phillips screwdriver
- Keep the car shut off but put in drive to remove the two screws on the back side with the Phillips screwdriver.
- Look for wires inside the shifter rod and cut them but leave some to add and twist the shifter wires.
- Watch and catch the button of the shifter while pulling it out.
- Put the new shifter onto the shifter rod.
- Lift the shifter up of the rod about an inch and push the shifter button with the spring into its hole and put the shifter all the way down the road.
- Add the two screws in the back of the shifter.
