[edit] Tools Needed
- 4 Jack Stands
- Jack
[edit] Supplies Needed
- 4 Pieces of wood or brick
[edit] Instructions
- Position your car on a flat area with enough space around the car to work on.
- Place a piece of wood or brick behind the wheels except for the one you are going to work on.
- If you are working on two wheels, place the jack stands all around the 4 wheels.
- Find the jack indentation points on the side of the car. They are located just behind the front wheel, and just in front of the back wheels.
- Insert a jack stand along the side indentations of the car and the jack closer to the wheel.
- Lift the car by using the jack. Lift the tire at least 1" off the ground for easy access.
- If you have a flat saddle on the jack, find a flat piece of metal frame to jack the car on. Do not jack at the ridges or you will bend it.
- After lifting, adjust all the jack stands to the same height.
- To lower the car, use the jack to lift the car high enough to easily remove the stands first then slowly lower the car.
