[edit] Article Naming Convention
In order to help facilitate searching of articles we have come up with a naming convention that should cover most situations. The format for naming new articles should be as follows:
- Make Model (Start Year - End Year) - Title of Article (Motor Name - Optional)
- Example - Nissan 350Z (2003-2009) - Oil and Oil Filter Change
- Example - Nissan Sentra (1995-1999) - Air Filter Change SR20DE
- The year range "Start Year" and "End Year" tell what years of the vehicle, the article applies to. This is not necessarily the production years.
- The "Motor name" is optional and only applies if there are multiple motors for that year range and the steps of the article differ because of it.
[edit] How to Create an Article
- First start by searching for the article you're looking for with the search bar on the top. If the article doesn't exist already and you would like to contribute by creating it, follow the next steps below.
- Type in what the article title will be using our naming convention above, into the search bar.
- So if you wanted to create a new article for a Nissan 350Z on how to change the wiper blades, you would type into the search bar:
- Nissan 350Z (2003-2009) - Changing Wiper Blades
- Make sure you push the "Go" button for when you want to create an article otherwise search results will show up instead.
- Because the page doesn't exist, the wiki will ask you if you want to create the page. Click on the create tab at the top of the page to begin creating the new article.
- We have a standard article format that helps organize content effectively.
- if you're unfamiliar with wiki tags please first familiarize yourself with the basics at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Formatting.
- The basic structure is:

[edit] Article Categories
We do our best to come up with a good categorization strategy for the articles, but categories are hard to maintain and as a result not all articles may make it into its appropriate category. You are always encouraged to search directly for articles as this will get you where you want to be quickest. You can view the categories by clicking on Browse Vehicles from the menu on the left.
