- New brake pads
- Brake fluid
- Caliper grease
[edit] Instructions
- Jack up vehicle.
- Block rear wheels
- Raise the vehicle high enough that the wheels clear the ground with at least two inches.
- Remove tire from the side you jacked up.
- Remove the caliper mounting bracket with the ratchet wrench and hang it from the undercarriage with the bungee cord to remove and strain on the brake line.
- Remove the brake pads from the bracket.
- Pay attention to how they are put in to make re-installment easier.
- Compress the brake caliper. The brake caliper is the cylinder in the center of the bracket.
- Place one of the old brake pads over the caliper and press it down so it is flush with the bracket.
- Install the new brake pads into the slots where the old ones were.
- Re-attach the mounting bracket and set the tire back on.
- Lower the vehicle and then tighten all of the lugs with the tire iron.
- Start vehicle and pump brakes a few times to snug the pads up to the caliper
Repeat for other side.
