[edit] Instructions
PROBLEMS: Internal exhaust leak, warped block, blown head gasket, overheat damage, poor gas mileage, bubbles in the coolant, rise in coolant level upon starting.
TEST: To determine if you have exhaust gases in your cooling system.
- While engine cool remove radiator cap.
- Inspect gasket and replace as necessary. Fluid level should be low enough in radiator not to contact test device.
- With cap off, start engine. Fluid should be circulating in radiator to begin test.
- Follow the instructions in filling the fluid into the tester. Insert tester into radiator neck and pump rubber bulb to draw air/steam from radiator into test chamber with blue fluid for about a minute. If it changes to yellow you’ve got issues. Stays blue there isn’t any combustion gas present during the test.
- Turn off engine check to see if fluid level remains the same.
- Put on new gasket on radiator cap, reinstall.
