This is a guide on how to jack up a Chevrolet Cobalt 2005-2010.

'''Safety Precautions:'''
*Safety should be your number one priority.
*Getting under a vehicle when it is jacked up is dangerous. If the vehicle slips off the jack, you could be badly injured or killed. Never get under a vehicle when it is supported only by a jack.
*Raising your vehicle with the jack improperly positioned can damage the vehicle and even make the vehicle fall. To help avoid personal injury and vehicle damage, be sure to fit the jack lift head into the proper location before raising the vehicle.

==Tools Needed==
*4 Jack Stands
*Floor Jack

==Supplies Needed==
*4 Pieces of wood or brick

==Instructions==

#Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface
#Make sure your vehicle is in park and use the parking brake
#Block wheels that are not going to be lifted.
#Position the jack lift head at the right points. The rear location is about 4 inches in front of the rear wheel opening. The front location is about 8 inches behind the front wheel opening.

[[Image:cobalt-2008-jack-up.gif|thumb|150px|none|Jack Up]]

#Raise the jack head until it fits firmly in the vehicle's frame, where the notch is located.
#Raise the vehicle by turning the jack handle clockwise. Raise the vehicle far enough off the ground so there is enough room.
#Pull the bulb directly out the socket, and then replace it with the new one.
#Reconnect the socket to the assembly and replace the wiring harness.
#Test the signal light to make sure it works.
==Instructions==
Chevrolet Cobalt has rear drum brakes instead of disc brakes.

#Remove brake reservoir cap.
#Loosen the wheel lug nuts.
#Jack up rear of the vehicle and put Jack stands.
#Use nut wrench to remove the lug nuts.
#Pull the wheels off the wheel hub.
#Remove two bolts holding brake calipers to disk
#Pull the caliper up off the rotor. Secure it to the coil springs above the rotor.
#Remove used brake pads from calipers.
#Press the caliper piston back into the caliper assembly. Place the face of one of the brake pads over the piston and force the pad against the piston with a C-clamp. The piston will collapse back into the caliper housing.
#Insert the new brake pads into the caliper assembly and reassemble the brake assembly.
#Spray the brake rotors and pads and calipers down with brake parts cleaner to remove any remaining brake dust.
#Put the wheel back on the wheel hub and tighten the lug nuts.
#Repeat steps on the other rear brake.
#Lower the vehicle to the ground and torque the lug nuts.
#Pump the brake pedal several times until the pedal feels firm and then test drive.
#Open hood and keep it open with hood prop.
#Locate the air filter housing unit by looking on the passenger side of the car in the front corner.
#Look for a black box that is pentagon-shaped, and has a large black tube extending from it.
#Release the lid on the air filter housing unit by loosening the clips that hold it in place.
#Pull the lid off the unit.
#Slide the old filter from the housing unit.
#Carefully remove air box cover and air filter taking note of which direction the crinkled sided of the filter is facing.
#Remove any debris such as leaves or dead insects and clean out the compartment with a damp rag.
#Install new filter putting it back the same way you took the old one out.
#Put the lid back in place on the housing unit. Secure the lid in place by reattaching the clips.
